My favorite part of the year is finally here ... fall! From the changing of the leaves to sweater weather to pumpkin spice lattes, fall is in the air! With the transition of summer to fall, comes the brisk winds and chilly mornings. Jackets are my favorite way to stay both warm and fashionable during those times, and I’ve chosen to share a few of my favorites with you!
I love this first army-jacket because it’s a perfect transitional piece. You could layer it over a t-shirt if the weather is warmer or over a sweater for those chillier days. This outfit is totally perfect for going apple picking this fall!
Next, a warm blazer is perfect for those chilly autumn nights. This piece is super versatile and will pair perfectly with almost any neutral top you have in your closet. I know I will for sure be wearing this jacket this season, especially during the colder months! Sometimes it’s hard to find a cute jacket for these fall months, but make sure to check out your local Plato’s Closet for some great options!
The third jacket I wanted to highlight is this super cute mustard-colored windbreaker. This is perfect on a cold, windy fall day when paired with either black jeans or leggings. I personally love this jacket because it will keep you comfy while staying fashionable.
The last piece I wanted to show you is an absolute classic that you can never go wrong with: a jean jacket! Whether you want a more form-fitting style or if you want to go for more of an oversized look, a jean jacket is always the perfect layer to bring your outfit to the next level.
I hope all of these looks help inspire you this fall season!

The transition from summer to fall styles can be a little tricky since the weather can almost never make up its mind. The mornings and nights are crisp, while the days still have the potential to be hot … so how do you dress for weather like that? With fall being one of my favorite seasons for fashion, I’ve put together outfits that will help you transition a little more seamlessly.
With this first outfit, I decided to dress up a comfy pair of joggers for those days when the weather is cooler. I took a neutral pair of grey joggers and paired it with a white crop top that shows a peek of midriff. Since it’s not exactly cold yet, I still like to get the most out of my crop tops (can’t get enough honestly). For those times where it might be chilly in the mornings, I put an oversized denim jacket. As for the shoes, I threw on a pair of white sneakers that are good for being on the go!
For my next outfit, I put a feminine twist on a set of black denim overalls. Under the overalls, I decided that a striped black sweater with signature sleeves would be cute and give it some flair ... literally. Since I wore my hair up, I opted for a pair of heart-shaped pearl earrings to complement the more feminine look I was going for. Lastly, for the shoes, I can’t get enough of blush pink lately so I went with short chunky heels in that color.
Another thing I love about putting together outfits in the fall is being able to wear sneakers, without suffering from heat stroke *inserts sweating emoji*. For example, this outfit is simple and lets the shoes do most of the talking. For the top, I took a grey oversized sweater and let it hang over my shoulders. I kept this look sporty by wearing distressed light-wash jeans. To keep the outfit simple, I then decided to add small gold hoops.
I hope these outfits serve as major fall outfit inspiration!

The temptation of buying yourself a brand-new wardrobe at the start of each season is strong, I know from experience. Especially with advertisements telling you to buy the newest trend of the season. Many of us may be facing this exact problem as we start the transition from summer to fall fashion. Luckily, there's plenty of ways to avoid unnecessary spending this season by using summer items and a few staple pieces to create fun fall looks. Follow some of these tips and you'll feel like you have a new fall wardrobe without the cost!
Midi skirts were one of the biggest trends of the summer season and one of my personal favorites. Because I have a slight obsession, I accumulated multiple midi skirts and I plan to carry them into my fall wardrobe. One super simple way to style your midi skirts for colder weather is to throw on an oversized sweater to juxtapose the dainty and feminine nature of the skirt. Then pair with your favorite sneakers or some booties!
Another staple item you may already have is a simple black maxi dress; you don't have to leave this classic item behind this fall season! Throwing on a cropped cardigan is the perfect addition to make this item fall-friendly. I got this white cardigan from Plato's Closet and it's such a versatile piece that everyone should have! Next, I opted for a pair of black mules to keep the look more sophisticated, but chunky sneakers would look great as well!
This next outfit was inspired by my favorite fashion YouTuber, Ashley (aka bestdressed). Similar to maxi dresses, you don't have to part ways with your mini dresses either! Simply layer them over some long sleeve shirts and it transforms into the perfect fall look! The other key component to this outfit is the gold-layered necklaces. Gold jewelry is an easy way to spice up any fall outfit. Lastly, to keep the look casual, I finished it off with some white sneakers.
If you have some patterned miniskirts and graphic tees from this summer, with some simple styling, you can have great fall outfits too! To start, Chelsea boots are one staple item that can make these two simple items into the perfect fall look! I also added a cropped denim jacket to make this look even more fall-friendly.
Yes, I know the age-old adage of not wearing white after Labor Day. However, since I'm from the west coast, and I don't follow this rule! Instead, I'm going to give you a fall outfit idea using white jeans (or shorts)! Simply style them with your dainty summer tanks, throw on a denim jacket, and Chelsea boots! Neither of these staple summer items have to be left behind this season!
I hope you got some inspiration from these outfits and apply some of these tips to your own wardrobe. Just remember, you don't have to buy a new wardrobe every season to stay fashionable and feel fresh! Just get a little creative with your summer pieces and you'll have plenty of new outfits at half the cost!

Summer coming to an end can be sad for summer lovers like me. But the good news is that you can now focus on being the fashionista of your school. I’ve put together four unique outfits to serve as inspiration for back-to-school styles!
For this outfit, I focused on solid basics by taking a black shirt and pairing it with vintage distressed-hem shorts. This is perfect for days when you will be on the go but still want to look cute. It’s chic, clean, and allows you to soak up those last few days of wearing shorts. For the shoes, I picked black platform slip-ons and then paired it with a slim cheetah belt to add a bit of flair to the overall outfit.
This outfit is cute and dainty but still remains on the chill side. There’s so much character in this outfit with the ruffle details of the shirt, the fringe on the jean hems, and the fur in the slides. I kept the jewelry simple with a zodiac necklace (#cancer) and paired it with some glasses. On days that your class schedule is heavy. This is an outfit that keeps you comfortable, but still cute.
Biker shorts are an essential piece that almost everyone has in their closet now. This outfit is comfy and sporty but also has feminine touches through the layering of the accessories. It’s super easy to find an oversized band tee and pair it with biker shorts. Since biker shorts are so neutral, I decide to pair this outfit with colorful sneakers to keep this look alive. Now, this is a perfect outfit for those chill days on campus!
For this last look, I paired a corduroy skirt with sporty pieces such as chunky sneakers and a men’s tee. Styling up a graphic tee is always a great option, especially on days you are looking to create an outfit from pieces already in your closet. For accessories, I felt it was necessary to layer jewelry again, considering the oversized tee feel. This outfit will definitely allow you to zip around campus.

Hey girls! Do you dread waking up in the morning for school and picking out your outfit? I know I always have a hard time picking out stylish outfits quickly in the mornings. It is most definitely a challenge for me. So in today’s post, I have three effortless outfits for back-to-school that you can create with pieces you have in your closet!
I used to hate skirts, but in the past year or so, I found this comfy black denim skirt and my life has changed! Skirts are so effortless while making your outfit look put together and thought through! Denim skirts can go with almost any top in your closet, whether it’s an oversized thrifted tee, your favorite tank, a jean jacket, you name it! I paired my denim skirt with a baby blue tank and a cropped white sweater! Lately, I have been obsessed with this staple-cropped sweater because it looks amazing with skirts or high-waisted jeans!
Next up are these corduroy pants that I just found and totally fell in love with! They are so not something I would normally wear, but I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and I ended up loving them! I think they would look amazing with a pair of chunky white sneakers, but I just pair them with my converse and a graphic tee. If these corduroy pants aren’t your thing, try a unique pair that’s more your style! Always check your local Plato’s Closet for unique finds that nobody else will have!
This last outfit is definitely what I wear most often, and that’s my favorite pair of comfy, ripped denim and a basic white tee! I also wore a pair of silver, hoop earrings to dress up the look. With classic and simple looks like this, I love adding small accessories to add more detail. I also added a black belt, with a circle buckle, to pull the look together. If it is a colder day, try pairing a cardigan or wearing an open sweater like I did! I’m currently obsessed with this vintage sweater of mine because I think it adds a lot to the look!
Thanks for reading this post! I hope it gave you some ideas or inspiration on easy and effortless looks for back-to-school!
