One thing I love most about the summer is the opportunity to have fun outdoors, especially by the water. Something about summer just screams "go outside and live your best life!" Personally, I look forward to those summer weekend getaways that take my mind off of everything going on in the world and I can really just relax and spend time with those around me. Regardless of whether your weekend getaway consists of going to a lake house or just going to visit another city, I would like to show you three different outfits to prepare you for a stylish, yet fun summer getaway.
Outfit 1: Little Black Dress (LBD)
Butterflies are literally everywhere you look when you go shopping and they are truly one of the most influential statements on clothing right now. So with that being said this LBD (little back dress), is nothing short of cute with this simple butterfly decal on the front. Dresses like this are easy to move around in during the summer and definitely keep you cool because of the thin material and spaghetti straps. You can also change the aesthetic of the LBD, so if you’re like me and like a little bit more tomboy, try adding some chunky shoes instead of sandals. Lastly, I’m a simple girl, so I thought it was best to just pair this with a basic necklace of my zodiac sign.
Outfit 2: Oversized Shirt
I’m sure there’s going to be one day on your weekend getaway where you grab something out to eat, but please remember to be safe while you’re out in public! Furthermore, this outfit is so comfortable but still so stylish and can be easily re-created. Distressed shorts are forever going to be in style for me and adding an oversized shirt, with butterflies I may add, helps you stay on-trend right now. Many people like to wear oversized shirts with biker shorts and this is just another rendition of that outfit basically.
Paired with it, I have some chunky short heels that are a light lavender shade and definitely compliment the colors within the butterflies of the shirt. To add a pop of color, I have a cute backpack that is a bold yellow and I think that it adds exactly what this outfit needs and creates a great balance between tomboy and feminine. I didn’t add much jewelry besides my typical pearl earrings, however, this outfit says a lot without saying much so I didn’t feel it was necessary, but you could always add some if you see fit.
Outfit 3: Black Shorts
This last outfit is definitely one that can be worn while on-the-go. Given that the shorts are a little bit looser, it allows great movement so you don’t feel restricted and also helps you stay cool while you are active. Plus, I love to pair crop tops with loose-fitting shorts to definitely get a sportier look. If you’re somebody who likes to carry bags but wants to keep the sporty aesthetic going, you can always opt-in for a fanny pack such as the one that I have. Of course for the shoes, I paired it with some checkered vans that don’t necessarily match but adds a little spunk to the outfit. Since the outfit is so simple, I paired it with some gold hoops and I chose to wear sunglasses with a gold accent to tie in with the sporty aesthetic.
As I said before, summer getaways are one of the things that I look forward to during the summer months but with everything going on in the world currently, it’s important to stay safe and remember to practice social distancing.

In light of everything going on in the world around us, it’s now more important than ever to practice self-care. Today I wanted to share some of my all-time favorite self-care essentials.
Let's start by highlighting my favorite beauty essentials. If you’re like me, you want to look “golden” even when going to the beach is not an option. I love self-tanner, especially tanning water. To keep your skin nice and healthy make sure to use your favorite hydrating cream often! Hydrated skin is glowy skin and who doesn’t love that? For extra hydration, try glow spray or serum for a natural glowy look at home.
Another way to achieve that “glowy” look is with my favorite DIY sugar scrub. It’s super easy, smells great and makes your skin so soft! You only need a few simple household ingredients; 2 cups of Brown sugar, 1 cup of solid coconut oil and any other extra additions, for example, essential oils or vanilla extract.
To make your DIY sugar scrub follow these two simple instructions:
- Stir together the brown sugar, coconut oil, and your essential oils or vanilla extract until the mixture appears smooth.
- Now your sugar scrub is complete and you're ready for an at-home spa day! Make sure to store the scrub in an airtight container. This scrub will last for weeks.
While practicing social distancing you should still try to keep your normal routines, and that includes doing your hair. For effortless waves or a beachy look, try a wavy spray or sea-salt spray to change things up. Another way to change up your look is with hair accessories! I’ve personally been obsessed with headbands, hair clips and printed scrunchies. You can elevate a simple look real quick with these trendy accessories.
I hope you enjoy these easy self-care tips and my favorite DIY to do while at home.

The Classic Hoodie:
Who doesn’t love wearing a hoodie all day, every day? If you're the type who only thinks of wearing leggings with your hoodies, I’m here to change your mind! There are so many cute trendy ways to style a hoodie, but here are a few of my favorites:
- Layers - Wear a hoodie under a classy knee-length jacket or jean jacket. Then for bottoms, I’d go with a pair of your everyday boyfriend jeans or leggings!
- Athleisure Wear - Matching sets of sweatpants and hoodies are so in right now and they're also super comfy when paired together!
- Oversized - Looking for a laidback, but put-together look? Grab your oversized hoodie, boyfriend jeans, chunky sneaks, and you're ready for a day with your girlfriends! Or, for more of a spring option, swap out the boyfriend jeans for biker shorts.
Doc Martens/Lace-Up Boots:
Are you a doc’s girl? I recently got a pair of off-brand white lace-up boots that I’m in LOVE with! I was unsure at first if I could pull off these statement boots, but I love how classy and stylish they make my outfits look. If you are into wearing chunky boots, then girl, here are a few looks you can pull off wearing the same statement boots:
- Rolled Mom Jeans - This is such a classic look that you can’t go wrong with. Plus, your options for tops are basically endless! A dainty blouse, a graphic tee, or a chunky sweater, anything works!
- Dressed-Up Doc’s - Now what a spicy, yet girly look! What’s more trendy than a flirty dress with some statement boots?
- Midi Skirt and Tee - Start by finding your favorite oversized tee and tucking it into a midi skirt, then just add your boots, and you’re golden!
The Favorite Midi Dress:
Do you have a few midi-dresses in your closet that you feel like you can only wear them during the spring or summer? Well, girl, it's time to pull out your dresses and mix it up!
- Turtlenecks, Turtlenecks, Turtlenecks - If it's still chilly where you are, pair a neutral-colored or mesh long sleeve or turtleneck under your dress. I promise it looks stunning and it's so simple!
- Sneaks & a Dress - Who doesn't have a pair of old chucks hiding in the back of your closet? It’s an easy throw-together outfit because it's so basic, but it's still always cute and trendy!
Did this help you? I hope now you can look at your closet with a pair of fresh eyes and are inspired to find all the new ways you can repurpose your favorite pieces in different ways!

Spring is fast approaching, which means that it's time to swap your winter wear out for some fresh spring styles! Going to secondhand stores and thrift stores is my favorite way to revamp my wardrobe, for the new season, without spending too much money. I recently took a trip to my local Plato's Closet and picked up some adorable items that are perfect for this upcoming season. I had so much fun styling these pieces and I hope they provide some spring outfit inspiration!
For this first look, I picked up this bright pink sweater for only $6! Spring is the perfect time to step outside of your usual color comfort zone and rock some super bright pieces! I also found this adorable mint green purse for just $10, which was originally from TopShop. The pastel green and classy pearl details make this purse the perfect addition to any spring look.
Although spring brings a little bit of warm weather, those chilly breezes may require you to do some layering. I picked up this white cardigan, that was originally from Hollister, for only $14 at Plato's Closet! I love how cozy and warm it is and it's perfect to throw on over any floral dress. A white cardigan is definitely a spring essential!
Can you guys believe that I thrifted everything in this outfit (except the purse) from Plato's Closet?! I got this cute graphic tee shirt for only $6 and then these green linen pants for $12! The earth tones and linen make this the perfect spring look. I topped it off with these Sam Edelman sandals that I also picked up for only $10. Lastly, I added a straw bag to complete this laidback spring look.
As the weather slowly warms up, jean skirts are a great addition to any wardrobe. Plus, the little details make it more interesting and unique compared to a typical jean skirt. For this look, I paired this studded jean skirt, that I found for $6, with a white tee and a red bag to pull out the embroidery on the shirt.
I hope you guys can find some inspiration in these spring looks! Just remember that you don’t have to splurge on a new wardrobe every season! Thrifting is an affordable, sustainable, and fun way to revamp your wardrobe!

Hey girl! Are you getting tired of repeating the same outfits over and over for school? Wanting some new inspo and some new ways to pair your clothes for effortless school looks? I got you! In this post, I’ll be sharing with you my top 3 school looks!
Outfit 1 | Black + Nude Tones Together Always
Do you have a pair of favorite black jeans sitting in your closet? Do you also have a nude/creme/brown top? Pair them together and see what happens! I love pairing my black denim jeans with tops like this light brown, button-up cardigan. I’ve also layered a cheetah top under the cardigan so the top of the shirt showed. A cardigan like this is perfect for an easy school look because you can wear it in so many ways! For the colder days, I paired a brown turtleneck under the cardigan and I got so many compliments!
Outfit 2 | Oversized Sweatshirts Every Day
Have you ever felt you couldn’t wear a sweatshirt to school because it was too oversized or not cute enough? Well if so, I’m here to change your mind! For a comfy, casual look, simply roll the sleeves up on your sweatshirt twice, tuck one side into your favorite pair of jeans, and put on your favorite sneakers. Lastly, layer it with some gold necklaces for that effortless “fashion blogger” look. I found this secondhand grey sweatshirt for only $10 and I’ve been wearing it more than anything else in my closet right now!
Outfit 3 | Layering Your Favorite Cami
This next look if for you if you have a bunch of cute cami tops in your closet that you rarely get to wear because of school dress codes! Just grab a white tee or a plain colored long sleeve, and layer it underneath! This is one of my go-to outfits for school if I want more of a dressed-up look! It looks super put together, but it really doesn't require a lot of effort!
*Style Tip: Cropped and oversized zip-up hoodies are also in! Throw one over any outfit for a comfy-cozy look!
What did you think of my effortless school looks? I hope these outfits give you some ideas on how to style yourself for school without breaking the bank! As always, thanks for reading!
