- Easy to join – just enter your phone number in the tablet in a store, or have a sales associate enter your information for you.
- Customers joining the program receive one point for every one dollar spent on merchandise in one of our participating DFW area stores.
- Once 200 points have been collected, the customer may redeem the points for $5 off the next purchase in a DFW-area store, and no minimum purchase is required to use the $5. Extra savings and “super saver” redemption awards are also available for customers who save up their points.
- Customers may receive additional VIP discounts and coupons by text after joining this program, as well as getting rewarded for purchases. Customer must reply YES to the confirming text message after signing up.
a. All existing members will be transferred automatically to the new program as of 1/21/2020. All points will be “pending”.
b. One the first visit to a DFW area store, existing customers can "activate" their account by checking in on the new tablets at the cash register area, using their cell phone number.
c. The associate may ask for additional optional information to complete the enrollment, such as name, birthdate for coupons, and email address.
d. After check-in, the customer will get a text asking to confirm the account. If the customer does NOT get the confirming text, there could be an issue transferring the account or the points, such as an error in entering the phone number, or a forgotten phone number
e. After getting the confirming text, the customer replies “Yes” to activate the account and display the points total.
f. A “New Customer” welcome coupon will be texted the next day.
2. New Customers
a. Customers not already in the 5stars network can join by typing their phone number to “check-in” at the tablet at the checkout. Customers in the network already can add this location by “checking in” at any Plato’s Closet in the DFW area
b. The associate may ask for additional optional information to complete the enrollment, such as name, birthdate for coupons, and email address.
c. One enrolled, the customer will receive a text confirming the account phone number. Reply YES to activate the account and get text coupons;
d. If the customer does not immediately receive the confirming text, there may be an error in the account, including a mistake in typing the phone number.
e. New customers may begin earning points for rewards immediately.
f. A “New Customer” welcome coupon will be texted the next day.
3. Earning points
a. 1 point will be given for each $1 spent in a participating store, after discounts and before sales tax
b. Points are awarded manually by a sales associate at the time of purchase, and customers need to “check in “ on the tablet or tell sale associates that they are a member of the program.
c. Less than full dollar amounts do not earn points. In other words, a purchase of $3.49 before tax will receive 3 points. Most items we sell are in full dollar amounts.
d. Returns are deducted from point totals.
e. Points may not be earned on transactions where points have been used
4. Redeeming points
a. Customers may use points according to the following schedule:
i. Standard – 300 points used for $10 off next purchase.
ii. Early – 200 points used for $5 off purchase.
iii. “Supersaver”-400 points used to get 20% off a purchase (maximum discount of $40 off a $200 or more purchase)
b. When points are redeemed, they will be subtracted from the customer’s point total. Example: Jane has 360 points and wants to take $10 off her purchase of a $15 purse. Her point balance will be reduced 300 points to 60 points, and the purchase will show $15 discounted to $5 on the receipt.
c. Points are not valid toward previously purchased merchandise or the purchase of gift cards. Points may not be redeemed for cash, and cannot be combined with other in-store discounts and promotions (this is a limitation of our Point of Sale system).
a. Customers opting in to the text portion of the program agree to receive operational, marketing, and promotional texts.
b. Marketing texts may include notices of upcoming events, such as Final Clearance Sales, special promotions and such. Customers should not receive texts more than a few times per month.
c. To later opt-out of the text marketing, text STOP
d. Additional coupons and discounts, such as birthday offers, may be sent by text as a reward for being an opt-in member of the Customer Appreciation Program texting club. These coupons are only available by text.
e. All text coupons and discounts have specified terms and conditions that may include expiration dates, dollar limits, or limits on the items they can use to purchase.
f. All discounts, coupons, and promotions have specific rules. Please see local store for full details.
6. Expiration of points/Other locations
a. Points earned by shopping in a DFW area store do not expire.
b. Points earned in other networks may not be used in DFW at this time. The 13 stores in this group are in: Arlington, Carrollton, Cedar Hill, Dallas, Denton, Euless, Flower Mound, Frisco, Ft Worth-Hulen, Ft.Worth-Alliance, McKinney, Mesquite, Plano
7. Legal and Other
a. The Customer Appreciation program is a gift to our customers and is not an earned right or entitlement. Plato’s Closet may, at its sole discretion, apply, interpret, terminate, alter, limit or modify this program and/or any other program rules, regulations, terms& conditions, or other benefits at any time, without notice.
b. No purchase is necessary to join, but changes in point balances require a purchase or return transaction.
c. Points are not transferrable or replaceable. Associates cannot find customer data if the customer’s phone number is changed/forgotten and point balances and coupons cannot be replaced due to loss of a phone number or deleted texts. Points, coupons and other discounts are for single-use only.
d. Plato’s Closet employees may not participate in this program.
e. Resellers are prohibited from participating in this program for points. If you purchase items for resale, we reserve the right not to award points, or to deduct points from your account balance and/or terminate your membership
f. Program accounts may be voided if the member has engaged in deception, forgery, fraud or other abuses of the program.
g. Text coupons must be presented on a cell phone to be redeemed. Screenshots may not be used. Forwarded texts may not be used.
8. Privacy Notice
a. All Customer data is private and encrypted. Plato’s Closet does not sell or otherwise distribute customer appreciation program data. Customer data is made available to the third-party program administrator and the individual store owners who manage the accounts.
