It’s my favorite month of the year ... October! You know what that means: it’s Halloween! Halloween is by far my favorite holiday because who doesn’t love candy, spooky stories and of course Halloween parties! I decided to put together three easy Halloween costumes to help you get into the spirit of spooky season! All of these costumes are super easy and you can probably find many of the items in your own closet already!
You can never go wrong with a cat costume! It’s super easy, sassy and cute. For this costume, I decided to wear my favorite ripped black jeans, which I paired with a basic black long sleeve. To top it off, I grabbed black booties from my closet and transformed myself into a sassy kitty, using some black face paint for the whiskers! However, if it’s cold outside, you can add black fingerless gloves and a black teddy coat.
For my next costume, I decided to dress up as a football player! I personally love football (Go Vikings!) and this outfit is perfect for anyone wanting to rock a sportier look. This costume could not be simpler: just grab any oversized jersey, leggings, sneakers, eye black and you’re ready to go!
Who doesn't love a good frat boy costume? This is super easy and cute! Start by borrowing a friend’s (or your dad's) oversized button-up shirt, add tall white socks, a pair of slides, and you’re all set! If you want to add a little something extra to this costume, grab a baseball hat or some fun sunglasses!
With these cute and easy costume ideas, there’s no excuse to stay home on Halloween! Make sure to check out your local Plato’s Closet for similar items and much more! Happy Haunting!

Hey girl! Has the cold fall air reached where you live yet? I don’t know about you, but it has gotten very chilly where I live already! I can no longer leave the house without at least a long sleeve or a jacket and let me tell you it is a struggle to put together cute outfits when it’s freezing outside, but the secret to a cute warm outfit is layers on layers girl! In today’s post, I have five cute ways that you can layer tops and dresses for fall and winter!
Did you jump on the lace cami trend just like me? Lace camis have been all over Pinterest and Instagram this past spring and summer season, but why not transition them into fall too? I paired this basic long sleeve with my favorite go-to black lace cami, but any silk or dressy top you have in your closet would work too! I paired my layered combo with my favorite pair of blue jeans and a belt!
Style Tip - If you don’t have a lace or silk top, look in the lingerie section of secondhand stores! They place all their slips and lace tops in that section, which most people don’t know about. After a quick wash at home, they’re perfect and affordable!
Who says you can’t wear your cute dresses in fall? I disagree! If you have a bunch of dresses in your closet, pair a turtleneck under them for an adorable, warm fall look! I layered a black turtleneck with my gingham dress and white sneakers. You can also pair chunky sweaters over dresses too! If you are going for the chunky sweater over a dress, I suggest a more form-fitting dress to balance out your outfit!
Do you want a more laid-back look? Grab your favorite graphic tee and a long sleeve! I would normally not wear a look like this, but once I put it on, I loved it! I think a colored long sleeve would look so cool with a graphic tee, but I just had a black long sleeve. I layered my long sleeve shirt under my graphic tee, with my black jeans and the same belt and sneakers from before! What I love about most of these looks is that you probably already have most of these pieces in your closet already! If not, you can easily find these pieces at your local Plato’s Closet!
Who knew a sweater and a jacket would be a perfect combo? I paired my vintage-styled cardigan with my thrifted leather jacket and I loved how this turned out! I am so excited to play around and try to layer things I wouldn’t typically layer together to get some unique looks this season!
If you haven’t seen these Rachel Green style cardigans all over Instagram and Pinterest yet, then I don’t know where you’ve been! Everything 90s has been trending recently and I’m definitely not mad about it! I found this simple button-up cardigan from the thrift store and I love how it looks! I wear it as a shirt with a cute bralette and jeans, and it’s the perfect 90s fall look! I like having the first few buttons unbuttoned and the remaining unbuttoned for that perfect Rachel Green look!
I hope you found this post helpful and it gave you some ideas on how to layer or outfits you can wear this season! Fall is always such a beautiful time of year, so go out and enjoy it! Talk to you next time! xoxo

Warm lattes, fuzzy blankets and chilly weather: all things that make fall the coziest season of all. Now that October has started and the autumnal equinox has passed, you can finally kick-start into fall fashion mode without any questions asked. If you’re like me during fall, comfort is a priority. One great way to stay as comfy as possible while looking put together is by wearing athleisure. With the proper styling and tips, your leggings and joggers can become super stylish pieces for your look. I’ve compiled some of my favorite athleisure looks so you can easily stay comfortable and stylish!
Joggers are essential when creating an athleisure look. Buying them in a fun color like this blush pink can really make them more interesting, instead of a typical grey or black pair. I paired my colorful joggers with this grey, cropped sweatshirt and finished the look off with my favorite white sneakers. You can always make a simple yet cute outfit with joggers and a sweatshirt!
One way to spice up your look is to focus on your hairstyle as well! Try doing a half-up ponytail to embrace that athletic look. You can also try putting your hair in some French braids or a high ponytail!
Leggings are another go-to item when I want to be comfy, but sometimes they feel a little too casual. My favorite way to style them is with a plain or graphic tee, my black Nikes and a jean jacket. The key to making this look dressier is the jean jacket: it ties everything together and finishes the look off perfectly!
Here’s another great look you can put together with a few simple staple items. Starting with some joggers, add a cropped tank top or tube top, and throw on an oversized jacket. Any color combo will work well with this look; it’s the silhouette that is unique with this outfit! A dainty top paired with these more bulky items creates a nice juxtaposition of styles.
This last look is almost a combo of Outfit 2 and 3, but I wanted to show some simple variations of these styles. In this outfit, I paired some Adidas track pants with a white tube top and finished it off with my favorite jean jacket. These track pants are perfect for the athleisure look if you’re looking for something more loose-fitting or detailed than leggings.
I hope you guys can take get some inspiration from these looks so you can be cozy and stylish this fall season!

My favorite part of the year is finally here ... fall! From the changing of the leaves to sweater weather to pumpkin spice lattes, fall is in the air! With the transition of summer to fall, comes the brisk winds and chilly mornings. Jackets are my favorite way to stay both warm and fashionable during those times, and I’ve chosen to share a few of my favorites with you!
I love this first army-jacket because it’s a perfect transitional piece. You could layer it over a t-shirt if the weather is warmer or over a sweater for those chillier days. This outfit is totally perfect for going apple picking this fall!
Next, a warm blazer is perfect for those chilly autumn nights. This piece is super versatile and will pair perfectly with almost any neutral top you have in your closet. I know I will for sure be wearing this jacket this season, especially during the colder months! Sometimes it’s hard to find a cute jacket for these fall months, but make sure to check out your local Plato’s Closet for some great options!
The third jacket I wanted to highlight is this super cute mustard-colored windbreaker. This is perfect on a cold, windy fall day when paired with either black jeans or leggings. I personally love this jacket because it will keep you comfy while staying fashionable.
The last piece I wanted to show you is an absolute classic that you can never go wrong with: a jean jacket! Whether you want a more form-fitting style or if you want to go for more of an oversized look, a jean jacket is always the perfect layer to bring your outfit to the next level.
I hope all of these looks help inspire you this fall season!

The transition from summer to fall styles can be a little tricky since the weather can almost never make up its mind. The mornings and nights are crisp, while the days still have the potential to be hot … so how do you dress for weather like that? With fall being one of my favorite seasons for fashion, I’ve put together outfits that will help you transition a little more seamlessly.
With this first outfit, I decided to dress up a comfy pair of joggers for those days when the weather is cooler. I took a neutral pair of grey joggers and paired it with a white crop top that shows a peek of midriff. Since it’s not exactly cold yet, I still like to get the most out of my crop tops (can’t get enough honestly). For those times where it might be chilly in the mornings, I put an oversized denim jacket. As for the shoes, I threw on a pair of white sneakers that are good for being on the go!
For my next outfit, I put a feminine twist on a set of black denim overalls. Under the overalls, I decided that a striped black sweater with signature sleeves would be cute and give it some flair ... literally. Since I wore my hair up, I opted for a pair of heart-shaped pearl earrings to complement the more feminine look I was going for. Lastly, for the shoes, I can’t get enough of blush pink lately so I went with short chunky heels in that color.
Another thing I love about putting together outfits in the fall is being able to wear sneakers, without suffering from heat stroke *inserts sweating emoji*. For example, this outfit is simple and lets the shoes do most of the talking. For the top, I took a grey oversized sweater and let it hang over my shoulders. I kept this look sporty by wearing distressed light-wash jeans. To keep the outfit simple, I then decided to add small gold hoops.
I hope these outfits serve as major fall outfit inspiration!
