Three ways to style your tie-front blouse
After going through your gently used name brand clothes at home, you quickly realize you bought a tie-front blouse but have no idea how to style it! Here are a few tips and tricks to help you nail the 2013 trend this summer:
1. Use your tie-front blouse to double as a crop top. Both looks are a must-have this season. To shorten the hemline, simply tie the blouse a little tighter than you normally would to help bunch up the fabric. Pair with high-waisted cut-off shorts and white sneakers for a cute, country vibe.
2. Look to your solid tie-front shirt as the color inspiration for your entire outfit. A bright tie-front blouse pairs well with a short, flowy skirts. Find a bottom with a floral pattern that has the same color as your shirt (or a hue in the same family) to complement the look. The skirt should fasten at the smallest part of your waist. Create a loose double knot with the ends of your blouse to cover the band of the skirt. Accessorize with a statement necklace, nude flats and a carry-all bag for a fun outfit that is comfortable to walk around in while shopping.
3. For a laid back look, pair a cotton tie-front tee with white skinny jeans and jeweled sandals. The relaxed fit of the shirt looks cute and casual with the summer "it" jean. Use your sandals to dress up the look without compromising on comfort.
