Stars step out for New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week gave fashionistas everywhere a reason to look forward to the fall, as designers unveiled their Fall/Winter collections for the world to see on the runways of the Big Apple.

Trends for the upcoming seasons include military-inspired pieces, metallics, menswear influences, mixing textures and python prints, according to CBS News. Traditional autumn colors such as black, green, wine and plum have been popular, as has white, which isn't as commonly seen in the colder months.

Renee Zellweger, Kelly Osbourne and Leighton Meester were just a few of the celebrity fashionistas to attend shows.

Other celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Gwen Stefani, Rachel Zoe and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen attended were there to showcase their own collections.

"It's more difficult for a celebrity to launch a clothing line," Tracy Taylor, U.S. editor for online fashion magazine Net-A-Porter, told Reuters. "Honestly, the eyes and ears of the world are on them. The eyes of this rarified group that almost is unattainable for celebrities - and that's to be a fashion designer."

Those who find inspiration from the photos taken at the most recent fashion week shows can begin to incorporate these looks into their wardrobe without spending a lot of money by shopping at secondhand and consignment stores that sell used brand name clothing for less.
