Hope is always in style at Plato's Closet
While many people view teenagers as self-centered individuals who have little empathy for others, two Plato's Closet locations are doing their part to turn this thinking around. The Plato's Closet locations in Fort Collins, Colorado, and Cheyenne, Wyoming, have gone bagless in an effort to make the world a better place.
In addition to being an environmentally-sound decision, eliminating the use of disposable bags has helped these stores raise money for HELP Uganda Primary Schools.
For every bagless purchase made at these locations, management is donating 5 cents to the charity, which helps to provide free schooling, electricity and running water in the impoverished African country.
Both stores also have put donation jars near their registers to encourage customers to donate to this worthy cause. After all, why not ask shoppers to consider donating at least a portion of the money they've saved by opting for used clothing, shoes and accessories instead of buying new?
Besides offering like-minded customers the opportunity to support an important charity and give Ugandan children some of the basic things many Americans take for granted, Plato's Closet offers shoppers a great way to save money on current, brand name fashions at a fraction of the price.
