Designer line debut does well at Target
Target's newest designer collection has been a hit with consumers so far.The Jason Wu for Target line hit stores and the internet earlier this month, and has been hard to find for many fashionistas.
The day of the launch, shoppers lined up outside Target stores to get first dibs on the much-awaited fashions. Some even purchased large quantities of items including dresses, separates, handbags and accessories to sell on internet auction sites such as eBay.
Those who shopped online, on the other hand, were limited to purchasing two items at a time.
The collection ranges in price from $19.99 to $59.99.
Wu is a well-known designer who is popular with celebrities including First Lady Michelle Obama, Diane Kruger and Chloe Moretz.
"I'm such a fan of his and I have been for such a long time," Blake Lively told US Weekly. "His line is so classic and elegant with iconic shapes and he really knows how to dress a lady - especially his Target line!"
While some fashionistas will get up early, wait in line and battle crowds to get their hands on designer pieces for less, others choose to regularly peruse secondhand and consignment stores to find used brand name clothing at bargain prices.
