DIY outfit ideas: Update your tried and true chambray
Are you looking for a way to update your wardrobe without breaking the bank? Instead of splurging on an expensive designer piece, consider re-purposing a few of your outdated items by combining them with gently used brand name clothing. Update your old chambray shirt you already have in your closet by adding some contrast to the design.
- First, find stores that buy clothes to search for a cheap pair of jeans.
- When you get home, cut out the back pockets of the jeans you just bought.
- Next, secure each pocket on either side of the breast of your chambray shirt, using straight pins to hold the pockets in place.
- Using a needle and thread (or sewing machine) stitch on the new denim.
Voila! You've just restructured your bland chambray into a multi-dimensional jean shirt! Style your renovated chambray by pairing it with a cute pair of white shorts, nude wedge shoes and a multi-strand chain necklace. You can rock your updated shirt for the rest of the summer season, then style it into the fall with a pair of colored skinny jeans, ankle boots and a lightweight sweater over the shirt for school.
