Accessorizing for less
Whether you see jewelry, shoes, handbags and other accessories on the pages of your favorite fashion magazine or worn by your favorite celebrity or most stylish friend, be assured that you can achieve the same look - without spending your entire clothing allowance. There's no denying that what celebrities wear and are photographed in on various red carpets can really influence what we want to wear. For instance, accessories including beaded headbands, clutch handbags, statement earrings, jeweled cuff bracelets and chunky necklaces are just a few of the trends worn recently by stars and are on many fashionistas "must-have" lists.
While a great deal of these pieces are one-of-a-kind, vintage, designer or worth millions, lookalikes are readily available, especially at stores that specialize in selling used clothing and accessories.
Remember that the right accessories can bring even the most generic outfit to the next level.
"I love chunky necklaces because they draw the focus of the outfit," fashion and accessories designer Rupee Lota recently told DailyVenusDiva.com. "With such fun and different accessory styles emerging for spring, I find that pairing the chunky necklace with a fashion-forward, geometric look can produce stunning results."
But don't feel like you have to wear every current accessory trend at once.
"Sometimes, all you need is a cuff with a lot of personality and some subtle earrings to bring your look together," Lota told the website.
